A sparrow fills the food side of a cats feeding bowl. We have given permission messages. We have privileged the cat over other creatures. This is about us, in which our connection with nature is reduced to those animals we can control. Our awareness of the natural world is reduced to a narrow set of paradigms, reflecting our management of the environment in cities.
