Piwakawaka Cat Toy

2012
Mild steel, fibre-glass, stainless-steel fittings, nylon rope, automotive spray-paint

This installation sculpture enlarged a piece from Unwitting Collusion, into a painted, fibre-glass version. It brought the idea of cat-toys as hunting training seemingly at the indifference of their owner, into a scale that is afronting to the viewer. Originally shown at the Sculpture on the Shore exhibition, it now resides in permanent display at Kaipara Sculpture Gardens.
